Q:
Who should participate in 'a course in Greatness'?
A:
Anyone
who pursues Greatness. Anyone who wants to get a solid grasp of
'life's fundamentals' and desires to release more of their potential.
Anyone who wishes to become more and to accomplish more with their
lives.
Q:
What's so different about 'a course in Greatness', from all other
courses available?
A:
What
is unique about the 'a course in Greatness', is that it
offers a complete understanding of your fundamental
capacity for excellence and personal achievement. This is a course
that puts fundamentals first. It establishes in a cohesive
unit, - 'All the Essentials'
While
having read hundreds of books in researching this project, it
has become evident that there are no courses that give you all
the proven and time tested essentials, - in a complete package.
While there are some courses that offer the tools for personal
achievement, they invariably lack the tools for spiritual growth
and transformation... and vice-versa.
This
course is an integration of spirit and body... being and doing...
inner and outer... As far as we're aware, this is
the only course that discusses all these principles in one integral
system of knowledge, their relation to one another, and most importantly,
how to cultivate these capacities.
'a
course in Greatness' takes all these critical concepts and applies
them directly in your life. Through experiments and meditations
you'll gain experientially the sense of empowerment which
many books talk about, but fail to show you 'how to internalize'.
Q:
What other programs is it like that I'd be familiar with?
A:
This
course is a synthesis of much collected wisdom. Learning about
ourselves and our power, is nothing that we all deep within don't
already know. As Galileo Galilee expressed, "you can never
teach anyone anything, - you can only help them remember what
they've have always knew".
What
you will be learning, you are already familiar with,
for it explores the essence of our consciousness and the
powerful capacities we have within. Throughout this course,
you'll be relating to and remembering your Greatness. Perhaps
at times this awareness has been dormant, but we believe Greatness
is an ever present potential within all.
Q:
What's so important about this program, when there are so many
other personal development courses to choose from?
A:
What
is essential in all programs, whether they are in education, personal
development, fitness... etc - is a strong commitment to the fundamentals.
You want a program that utilizes the 80/20 principle,
- or 'the vital few vs the trivial many'.
The
80/20 principle states that in life, not everything is of equal
value. 20% of all your actions produce 80 of all your results.
Conversely the other 80% produces only 20% of the results.
Most
companies manage according to this principle. They have realized
that about 20% of the faults in a product line are responsible
for 80% of the complaints. Through this understanding, they first
eliminate the critical 20% of flaws, and thus have solved 80%
of the problems. By focusing on the most important faults
first, they automatically improve their quality control.
You
can recognize this principle in your life, when you consider that
in your daily schedule, you probably have about 20% of the
hours that contribute for 80% of your results. And conversely,
the other 80% of your day is wasted on more trivial activities
that only produce 20% of your results.
This
course is based on this critical 20% principle. Not everything
is of equal value. It is important that we dedicate our time and
energy in programs that are committed to working on the critical
20% - that creates 80% of the results. That's what 'a course
in Greatness' is all about.
Q:
What is the most valuable quality that I must have in beginning
this course?
A:
Courage,
noted Winston Churchill, is 'rightly esteemed as the first
of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees
all others'. It is from within courage that all the highest
states of being like love, peace and joy are realized.
We
must first have the willingness to try new things, to be something
more than our conditioning. Therefore be willing to experiment
with the realms of power that these spiritual, mental and physical
practices offer.
The
environments in which we live are most often unsupportive for
the process of growth. Society as a whole does not encourage
growth, genius and greatness. As almost all philosophers
have observed, it is a system that seeks safety and mediocrity.
It teaches conformity. It applies implicit and explicit force
on individuals to be, think and act just like everyone else.
It
takes courage to break the mould that we have
implicitly and explicitly placed upon us. We must have the
courage to risk criticism, to risk looking 'uncool', to risk the
safety of numbers.
That
is a major factor why many betray their 'soul instinct'.
That is a major factor why only a few in each generation express
their genius.
As
Emerson noted, 'it truly demands something godlike,
to cast off the common motives of humanity and to venture to trust
yourself for a Taskmaster'.
Courage
is this godlike quality that you need in undertaking the life
of Greatness. It is something that we must continuously
apply. While we may be safe in the short term, it comes at
the highest of costs - life. To the coward and the
cynic, the fullness of soul qualities is hidden. To the courageous
all paths of true power are possible...
Q:
What is recommended to make this program work best?
A:
To
make this program really work is simple, and yet it is also the
most challenging aspect of it. What make this program truly transformational
is the willingness to learn with an open mind.
Since it is the past perceptions that are currently limiting any
of us, learning with an open mind, means that we don't allow
past paradigms to distort the message presented presently.
When we think we 'already know', we fail to bring sufficient attention,
in order to be affected by the message. When we
judge based upon learning of the past, we but reinforce the past,
and make little gains from the 'now'.
Remember,
our past paradigms are already given. We always have them to
fall back on. They're automatic.
We
need to consciously suspend them, even if temporary. The
best learning experiences happen when we allow ourselves to really
listen - presently - as if reading anew.
Being
fully present and attentive to how wisdom resonates within can
be difficult, - because it means that we have to be willing to
suspend the paradigms that we have 'sculptured' all our reality
with, - both good and bad. Our greatest fears, are not the
fears of the 'unknown' - but we are afraid to loose what 'we think
we know'.
Therefore
be open to the reading, prayer and meditation experiences.
Observe your own mental patterns and catch yourself
when you're not present...
In
that moment, you have become present.
Q:
I've participated in other programs and they all made large promises,
but have been disappointed by their results. What can I expect
from this program?
A:
If
you have previously read other self-help books and tried to make
changes only to return to the old habits, - you have addressed
a very important point: 'Why are behavioral changes but temporary?'
In
understanding this problem, we have the key to finding an authentic
resolve.
For most, personal changes are temporary. They are a yo-yoing
effect between two states: the problem state, and the 'idealized
state'.
It
doesn't matter in what aspect of life one has tried to make changes
- whether in the domain of physical health, or finances, or
relationships, or learning… This problem is not only common,
- but is the core characteristic of 'solutions' that don't
understand, nor address what is inherently problematic.
If
you follow the principles outlined in most self-help books, -
you can only expect temporary results. That may be a startling
statement, but it really represents a very common experience.
Why?
Because the solution is almost always partial.
For
example, many program focus only on the development of our imagination
faculty, and its capacity to restructure perception. However,
this method is often separated from our essential awareness and
purpose.
When
anyone tries to formulate a structure for changing attitudes or
behaviors, separated from 'the whole', - it eventually crumbles,
because it does not take into account the many other forces that
come into play. It fails to understand the context
in which it acts.
Setting
a goal or an affirmation, for the sake of having a direction,
doesn't resolve anything, - if not in line with our authentic
purpose and awareness of who we are.
Without
this context, - all goals are meaningless. We need
to directly experience and know this. It is from here
that mental training tools like visualizations and affirmations
(the development of imagination) can effectively transform
anything.
There
are no 'magic bullets', and all books have something useful to
offer. The challenge often lies in the fact that knowing one or
two principles is not enough, for that is like having a few
pieces of the puzzle, but no final picture to work with.
'a
course in Greatness' puts together the whole.
This
could be compared to the process of 'alloying' - the
process of mixing one metal with another, to create a new and
improved material. Of themselves most metals are actually weak.
But when we take a metal with the tensile strength (a material's
capacity to resist stress, to resist being torn apart) of 5, another
with 3, another with 7 and combine them, - they create a magical
tensile strength of 100!
